Apply for Scholarships

The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation welcomes you to our online, internet-based scholarship application process. Please read the “How to Apply” instructions carefully before you start the application process. All applications and attachments must be submitted online. We do not accept email, fax or hardcopies of the application or any attachments.

Attachments that need to be scanned should be scanned in a .pdf format using a low resolution. All other formats cannot be viewed and will be considered an incomplete application submission. If you are having difficulty submitting an attachment, please contact our office.

We recommend that you use the most updated version of your web browser when completing the online application.

The following three documents must be uploaded with your application:

  1. FAFSA Student Aid Report (FAFSA)
  2. Most Recent Grades (you do not have to submit the official copy)

The 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  will not be released until sometime December 2023. Because FAFSA results are required to submit a TGKVF Scholarship Application, you have the following options:

  1. Fill out the Document Placeholder linked here or found within the application. You will upload this as your FAFSA placeholder within the application.
    1. When submitted, this placeholder confirms that you acknowledge you will have to email kferrell@tgkvf.org with your updated results when you receive them or your application will be considered incomplete and will not be sent for review.
  2. You can complete your application once the FAFSA is available and you have acquired your results. TGKVF will accept your estimated results.

You can find the FAFSA and more information at fafsa.gov.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make any changes to it. The application has not been submitted until you hit the submit button. If you hit the cancel button, your information will be lost.

It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your application has been submitted correctly. The Foundation is not responsible for applications that are not submitted correctly.

Once you have successfully submitted your application, you should receive a notification via email.
